The Royal Northern and University Club is Aberdeen's oldest and finest private members' club, a home from home for its Members in the heart of the city.
The Club prides itself on its adherence to traditional values and ideals, but also on the uniquely warm and personal welcome it offers to Members from all places and walks of life. The Club is renowned for its fine catering, superb private entertaining spaces, comfortable overnight accommodation, and the limitless personal and social opportunities afforded to its Members.
The Club has a rich and illustrious history — a legacy of prestige and excellence which continues to the present day. Founded in 1854 and given its 'Royal' status following a visit to Aberdeen by Queen Victoria in 1863, the Royal Northern and University Club retains an elegant and dignified atmosphere while offering its Members and their guests a level of bespoke personal service which is unrivalled outside the world of the Private Club.
The Dining Room serves a daily catering offering, alongside a long wine list selected by the Wine Sub-Committee. Open to Members and their guests across three dining rooms.

The Club also runs a wide range of internal special-interest Groups, including investing, theatre, reading, gardening, photography, chess, snooker, and many more. The full calendar of events and Groups is accessible to Members through the Members' Area.
The Club brings Members together from all walks of life in the spirit of sociability, partnership, companionship, and enquiry. There is no hierarchy in the Club — all our Members are treated with equal respect and appreciation.
